This and that

It has been almost a month since my last post, but I've been very busy lately (not really) since the semester is almost over and we're entering the exam period. Anyways, here are some fractals I've made this month. Enjoy!

Last Day Of Summer

Here are two brand new fractals. Both are made with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) colouring algorithm and KPK formulas (kpk.ufm). Enjoy! :)

Autumn's Aglow

Autumn is here! My favourite season! I love all the pretty colours, the colder weather, the storms, everything! Being in such an autumnal mood, I felt inspired to change the design of blog a few days ago. The background is the second fractal by the way :)
The change of season is also affecting my fractals, as pretty much everything I've made lately have been in brown and orange colours. These two were both made using Crystal Globe (julia) (sam.ufm) formula. The first fractal is coloured with Thin Orbit Traps II (tma.ucl), while the second fractal is coloured with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl). Click the images for bigger versions with lots of lovely details! :)

The Sweetness Of Summer

I started this one out wanting to make something that resembled dandelions, simply because I love those pretty little weeds. Personally I think it looks at least a little bit like dandelion fluff, and the colours are warm and summery, so I'm quite pleased with the result.
This is a BarnsleyJ DeLuxe (ea.ufm) fractal, coloured with Trapestry-x and Thingamajigs II (tma.ucl).

Ataraxia

From Wikipedia: "Ataraxia (Ἀταραξία "tranquility") is a Greek term used by Pyrrho and Epicurus for a lucid state, characterized by freedom from worry or any other preoccupation."
I liked this fractal so much that I made two versions of it. It's a very simple one, just a few layers of BarnsleyJ DeLuxe (ea.ufm) formula coloured with Thingamajigs (tma.ucl). Enjoy! :)

Orange

Here's a little something I made last night.. Figured I would post it now before I bury myself in 19th century Germany, the Russian Revolutions and the Habsburg Empire. I've been surprisingly efficient today, it's only 12:50 and I've already had breakfast, read half a chapter about Bismarck and Germany and walked to the university in pretty crappy weather carrying 8 very heavy books. Usually I'm barely concious at this time of the day, but recently I've been getting up earlier and earlier. Maybe it's something in the water that's messing with my internal alarm clock. Or maybe the excessive amounts of coffee I have consumed recently have something to do with.

Anyway, this is a KPK Barnsky Pro (kpk.ufm) fractal coloured with Thingamajigs II (tma.ucl). Enjoy! :)

With Rue And Fire

I've been listening to Primordial a lot lately, and today I felt inspired to open Ultra Fractal and make something orange and kind of fiery. The exam period is beginning soon, so of course I'm starting to feel artsy and creative. I have even dug up my pencils and paper and started drawing again, for the first time in 3 years. It's a good thing that I only have two exams and that the first one is still two weeks away, because I haven't even started thinking about reading yet. Oh well, I'm happy as long as I don't fail anything.

This is a Cubic Roots-Julia (reb.ufm) coloured with Fibers And Things (reb.ucl) and Cellular Automata 3 (mjw.ucl). Enjoy!

JuliaPhoenixSimurgh animation

This is a fractal zoom animation of a Julia/Phoenix/Simurgh fractal (dmj3.ufm), coloured with Thin Orbit Traps II (tma.ucl). It was made with Ultra Fractal and took about a week to render. Enjoy!

Geometrical Winds

Today I decided to make a Hopalong gnarl with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) and lots of geometrix texture. I guess it's pretty obvious that I love playing around with the formulas in dmj.ufm, especially the Phoenix formulas, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that this is a PhoenixNova (Julia) fractal (bailout value: 1E-12).
I think that of all the gnarl types you can choose from, Hopalong definitely creates the coolest-looking gnarls. It's really versatile and can give all kinds of different results (a few examples: 3D, abstract and hearty). I'm pretty happy with this one, I really like all the spirals, the little details and the combination of purple and orange. Click for a bigger view and enjoy! =D

Happy Easter!

I was trying some stuff with a PhoenixDoubleNova (Julia) (dmj.ufm) fractal earlier today, and I discovered that changing the bailout value to 1E-12 and colouring it with Fibers And Things (reb.ucl) creates a really neat result. It is somewhat similar to a Phoenix (Julia) coloured with Triangle Inequality Average, although I prefer to colour my Phoenix fractals with Thin Orbit Traps II. Anyway, this is what I came up with after playing around for a while. A lovely abstract Easter fractal. Enjoy!
And because Fibers And Things is my favourite colouring algorithm at the moment, I have included two more fractals where I have used it. This one is a Phoenix (Julia) (standard.ufm) fractal with Fibers And Things and TIA/fBm + (jam2.ucl). Shiny! =D
This is Magnet2 (Julia) (dmj.ufm) formula with Fibers And Things and Sine-Mod III (tma.ucl) colouring.

Tropical

Slope (LambdaJulia) formula (dmj.ufm), coloured with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) and KPK Squeezed Banana (kpk.ucl). It looks pretty tropical and sweet to me ^^

Fingerprint

Quickie fractal! It took me maybe 15 minutes to slap this one together. I think it looks like fingerprints mixed with sunset and orange juice, but that might just be because I'm really tired at the moment.
Scaled Ikenaga Newton (reb.ufm) and Thin Orbit Traps II (tma.ucl). Enjoy!

Rust

Another dive into a Cayley Julia (reb.ufm) fractal! I love that formula, it's so much fun to play around with. For this animation I changed the 'Convergence Methods' from Newton to Mixed 3, just to make it look a bit different. I have two more zoom animations rendering now, they'll probably be ready in a couple of days. One of them is a Cayley Mandel fractal and the other one is a surprise =D

Something Spirally

Something new, at last! It's just a really simple quickie, but I still like it.
Cayley Julia formula (reb.ufm) and Thin Orbit Traps II. The first fractal is the original fractal and the two others are slightly modified zooms.

Nova Flower

I've been feeling pretty lazy today, so I haven't bothered making any new fractals. I just found an old parameter and played around with it for a while. This one was made in December 2009, right after I got Ultra Fractal. I never posted it anywhere even though I kind of liked it, and today I decided to fix it a bit and post it here. I didn't improve it that much though, I just changed the colours and added a couple of layers and some texture.
Nova (Julia) formula, Smooth (Mandelbrot), Orbit Traps and Conchoid of de Sluze colouring algorithms.
