This and that

It has been almost a month since my last post, but I've been very busy lately (not really) since the semester is almost over and we're entering the exam period. Anyways, here are some fractals I've made this month. Enjoy!

Autumn's Aglow

Autumn is here! My favourite season! I love all the pretty colours, the colder weather, the storms, everything! Being in such an autumnal mood, I felt inspired to change the design of blog a few days ago. The background is the second fractal by the way :)
The change of season is also affecting my fractals, as pretty much everything I've made lately have been in brown and orange colours. These two were both made using Crystal Globe (julia) (sam.ufm) formula. The first fractal is coloured with Thin Orbit Traps II (tma.ucl), while the second fractal is coloured with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl). Shiny Julia

I had some fun with the General Tent Julia (lkm.ufm) formula earlier today, and this is what I ended up with. I like the textures and the shiny, 3D-ish effect. For once I managed to avoid using Thin Orbit Traps II, because I feel like I have used it in almost every fractal I've made lately.

Frames Of Thought

I randomly stumbled across a fun-sounding and neat-looking formula earlier today, and of course I had to try it. This is Crystal Globe (Julia) from sam.ufm. After playing around a bit I ended up using Thin Orbit Traps II colouring algorithm. For texture I made a new layer and added Hexagonal Mapping and then I made another layer and changed the formula to Phoenix Julia from pwc-convert.ufm. I think this looks pretty neat, almost like a drawing. The first picture is the original fractal, and the second picture is a zoomed version of it. Click for bigger view and lots of lovely details!

Ancient

A quickee gnarl made with Very Advanced Gnarl 1.21 formula and Harlequin II colouring algorithm. It looks a bit ancient and mysterious to me :)

Gnarly!

After admiring BeesKnees67's beautiful fractal abstracts on DeviantArt last night, I felt like making something brownish and abstract myself. The formula I used was Very Advanced Gnarl and the colouring algorithms are too many to mention! ;)
This fractal has 12 layers and it took ages before I was happy with it. I like it a lot and I think it's a bit different from what I normally do. We'll see if I post it on DeviantArt or not, I haven't decided yet.
