Friday

I made this fractal about a week ago, and then I forgot about it. This one was made with 4-D Barnsley Julia (gnd.ufm) formula and Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) colouring algorithm. Enjoy!

Fossilized Ocean

I really like this fractal. The patterns, shapes and textures are nice and I'm very happy with the colours too. Something I'm not happy about is that Ultra Fractal had some issues when I made this one, and as a result the parameter wasn't saved. I didn't realise that until the day after, when I tried to open it again and found that it didn't exist anymore. Fortunately I had already rendered a big version of the fractal, and I remember what formula and colouring algorithm I used, but this still sucks.
This one was made with Circly Koch Curve (sam.ufm) formula and Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) colouring algorithm (I used the Hopalong variation if I remember correctly). Enjoy!

Just For Now

I have an exam in 'Modern European History - 1884-1917' next Saturday and I've spent the entire day reading about the industrial revolution and economic changes in Europe from 1850 to 1917. As I started to become increasingly tired and distracted,I figured it was time to put my books away and do something fun. I opened Ultra Fractal with the intentions of making something flowery and after about 30-40 minutes of meddling, I ended up with this lovely little fractal. I used KPK Treebarney (kpk.ufm) formula and coloured it with Thingamajigs II (tma.ucl). Enjoy! :)

Geometrical Winds

Today I decided to make a Hopalong gnarl with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) and lots of geometrix texture. I guess it's pretty obvious that I love playing around with the formulas in dmj.ufm, especially the Phoenix formulas, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that this is a PhoenixNova (Julia) fractal (bailout value: 1E-12).
I think that of all the gnarl types you can choose from, Hopalong definitely creates the coolest-looking gnarls. It's really versatile and can give all kinds of different results (a few examples: 3D, abstract and hearty). I'm pretty happy with this one, I really like all the spirals, the little details and the combination of purple and orange. Click for a bigger view and enjoy! =D

DoubleNova animation

Here's a new fractal animation, the first one I've made in a while. It took "only" 61 hours to render, and I'm pretty happy with the result. I have another animation rendering at the moment, a Julia/Phoenix/Simurgh (dmj3.ufm) fractal with tons of details. I'm pretty excited about that one, and I think it'll be ready in a week or so. Hopefully it'll look good.

Gnarly Potpourri

I felt like making a Hopalong gnarl earlier today, and after about an hour of messing around in Ultra Fractal, I ended up with this. The formula I used was HalleyNova(Mandelbrot) (dmj.ufm) and I coloured it with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri, Thin Orbit Traps (tma.ucl) and KPK Squeezed Banana (kpk.ucl). I think it looks pretty neat =D

Cubic Roots animation

Finally, more animations! I've been waiting for ages for the Cayley Mandel animation to finish rendering, and unfortunately the result is not as awesome as I hoped. The colours are a bit messed up and the end could have been a lot better. I feel like I always zoom in on the wrong parts of the fractal.
Oh well, at least the Cubic Roots Julia animation turned out pretty nice. Spirally, trippy fun ^^

Bloodshed

My animations are still rendering, and I have a feeling they will take a few weeks to finish. The rendering time appears to increase everytime I check how much is left, soon it'll probably be 60 000 hours or something..Oh well, at least rendering png. files only takes 20-40 minutes. Here's a little quickie fractal I made earlier today. I noticed that this month's Ultra Fractal challenge on DeviantART is to make a fractal with only Sine-Mod III colouring, and I decided to give it a try.

Cayley animation

This is a zoom I made of a Cayley Julia fractal. I like all those spider web-like details in it, and I think the colours look pretty nice too. It took forever to render though, more than 18 hours, but it was worth the wait. At least I think so =D

Phoenix Fun

Yet another zoom animation! This time we're diving into a Phoenix Julia fractal, coloured with Triangle Inequality Average. My animations keep getting longer and longer, this one lasts for 1 minute and 25 seconds! It's probably silly of me to get excited over something as little as that, but I'm still really happy. I've only been making these zooms for a few days, so any progress I make makes me super excited =D
Anyways, hope you'll like it!
