I was trying some stuff with a PhoenixDoubleNova (Julia) (dmj.ufm) fractal earlier today, and I discovered that changing the bailout value to 1E-12 and colouring it with Fibers And Things (reb.ucl) creates a really neat result. It is somewhat similar to a Phoenix (Julia) coloured with Triangle Inequality Average, although I prefer to colour my Phoenix fractals with Thin Orbit Traps II. Anyway, this is what I came up with after playing around for a while. A lovely abstract Easter fractal. Enjoy!
And because Fibers And Things is my favourite colouring algorithm at the moment, I have included two more fractals where I have used it. This one is a Phoenix (Julia) (standard.ufm) fractal with Fibers And Things and TIA/fBm + (jam2.ucl). Shiny! =D

Bloodshed part 2
I had some fun with Sine-Mod_III today, and I ended up with a fractal that was somewhat similar to Bloodshed. I made two versions of it, and they pretty much look the same except for a few small details. I prefer the first one though.
The formula is Phoenix Julia. Enjoy! =)

Phoenix Fun
Yet another zoom animation! This time we're diving into a Phoenix Julia fractal, coloured with Triangle Inequality Average. My animations keep getting longer and longer, this one lasts for 1 minute and 25 seconds! It's probably silly of me to get excited over something as little as that, but I'm still really happy. I've only been making these zooms for a few days, so any progress I make makes me super excited =D

Animation fun
I wrote in the previous post that I wouldn't attempt to make any fractal zooms myself anytime soon, but obviously I lied. Right after I had posted it, I decided to figure out how to make fractal animations and it is a lot easier than I thought. All you need is Ultra Fractal(animation edition) and patience. And of course a tutorial is very useful too. I skimmed through the animation tutorial that came with UF and started experimenting with zooms right away. These are two of the videos I made, the first one is from a Mandelbrot fractal and the second is a Phoenix Julia. They are pretty short and a bit choppy, but for being my first attempts at animation, I'm pretty happy with the result. The only downside is that they take forever to render. The Mandelbrot video is only 23 seconds long and really small, and it took more than an hour! Imagine how long it would take to render a 5 minute video! Oh well, I guess I'll get used to it.. =P

Firespirits
I said in the previous post that I wouldn't be able to make anything new today because I was too tired. I was wrong. After a cup of coffee and a large serving of homemade lasagna and cheesy baguettes I actually felt a little bit more awake, and decided to give Ultra Fractal a try. After playing around for a while, I came up with this. I'm actually really pleased with it, it's purple, spirally, glowing and fun. To me it looks like there are lots of little firespirits trying to escape from a suffocating purple mist.

Frames Of Thought
I randomly stumbled across a fun-sounding and neat-looking formula earlier today, and of course I had to try it. This is Crystal Globe (Julia) from sam.ufm. After playing around a bit I ended up using Thin Orbit Traps II colouring algorithm. For texture I made a new layer and added Hexagonal Mapping and then I made another layer and changed the formula to Phoenix Julia from pwc-convert.ufm. I think this looks pretty neat, almost like a drawing. The first picture is the original fractal, and the second picture is a zoomed version of it. Click for bigger view and lots of lovely details!
