I sold something!

Somebody bought an iPhone case from my Zazzle store! I'm soooo happy right now, because this doesn't happen often! Yay! =D
Here's a bigger picture of the case, and there's plenty more in my store :)

This and that

It has been almost a month since my last post, but I've been very busy lately (not really) since the semester is almost over and we're entering the exam period. Anyways, here are some fractals I've made this month. Enjoy!

Last Day Of Summer

Here are two brand new fractals. Both are made with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) colouring algorithm and KPK formulas (kpk.ufm). Enjoy! :)

Friday

I made this fractal about a week ago, and then I forgot about it. This one was made with 4-D Barnsley Julia (gnd.ufm) formula and Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) colouring algorithm. Enjoy!

Gnarly

Here's a fractal I made using the Very Advanced Gnarl formula and I think I used Thin Orbit Traps II (tma.ucl) colouring algorithm, but I'm not quite sure (and too lazy to check). I was going to post this on DeviantArt, but then I changed my mind and completely forgot about it until now.

Within The Flesh

Circly Koch Curve formula (sam.ufm) and Painter's Traps (tma.ucl) colouring algorithm. Enjoy! :)

Trains - A Love/Hate Relationship

I love taking the train, I really do. I think it's a very comfortable and lovely way of travelling, and it usually doesn't cost that much, which is a big plus when you're a poor student. What I don't like is that I'm apparently incapable of falling asleep on trains if the journey lasts for more than an hour. In cars, on buses, planes and on short train trips I usually nod off right away, but on long train trips? No way! It really feels like I've had 100 cups of coffee.
I have taken the night train from Kristiansand to Oslo and back again 4 times now, and not once have I been able to fall asleep. Every single time I have spent the entire 5-6 hours long journey wide awake, completely incapable of falling asleep despite not sleeping during the day before I left. Thankfully the trains have free internet so at least I won't get bored, but it's still a bit annoying that I'm not able to get some sleep.

Right now I'm sitting on the train to Kristiansand, it's 00:57 and I'm arriving around 4:00 am. I'm not tired at all and won't get any sleep until I'm home, which wouldn't be much of a big deal if I didn't have to get up at 7:30. I have lectures at the university until 2 pm. I'm also hungry and I have no food at all, and my back hurts. Fml.
I think I'm just going to leave it here and instead let you feast your eyes upon this fractal I made a while ago. Enjoy!

Autumn's Aglow

Autumn is here! My favourite season! I love all the pretty colours, the colder weather, the storms, everything! Being in such an autumnal mood, I felt inspired to change the design of blog a few days ago. The background is the second fractal by the way :)
The change of season is also affecting my fractals, as pretty much everything I've made lately have been in brown and orange colours. These two were both made using Crystal Globe (julia) (sam.ufm) formula. The first fractal is coloured with Thin Orbit Traps II (tma.ucl), while the second fractal is coloured with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl). Click the images for bigger versions with lots of lovely details! :)

Sunday, 4 September 2011

Oh hi!

I know I know, I'm not very good at updating my blog regularly. In my defence, I have actually been quite busy lately. I'm back at the university, and with this being the final year of my bachelor's degree (for those who don't know, I'm studying to become a translator), I have plenty of work to do. I've got two hand-ins due on Monday and one on Tuesday, and I also have other things to finish and a lot to read.
I'm still making lots of fractals though, because no matter how busy I am, I still manage to find time to play around in Ultra Fractal. Here are some of the fractals I've made lately. Enjoy! :)

Summer In Bergen

Wonderful, isn't it?

Fossilized Ocean

I really like this fractal. The patterns, shapes and textures are nice and I'm very happy with the colours too. Something I'm not happy about is that Ultra Fractal had some issues when I made this one, and as a result the parameter wasn't saved. I didn't realise that until the day after, when I tried to open it again and found that it didn't exist anymore. Fortunately I had already rendered a big version of the fractal, and I remember what formula and colouring algorithm I used, but this still sucks.
This one was made with Circly Koch Curve (sam.ufm) formula and Naru's Gnarly Potpourri (tma.ucl) colouring algorithm (I used the Hopalong variation if I remember correctly). Enjoy!

100

My 100th post, yay!Let's celebrate with a brand new fractal!
This one was made with Circly Koch Curve (sam.ufm) formula and Harlequin II (tma.ucl) formula. This is all I'm capable of writing at the moment, because I've had a rough day at work and currently have the brain capacity of a boiled cucumber. For some reason I have no problems making fractals when I'm extremely tired, but writing more than just a few sentences is way too hard. Weird.

Random

Some random stuff I've made recently. I haven't been that active here lately, partly because I've been working a lot and partly because I've been feeling lazy and uninspired. And I also got a tumblr :)

The Sweetness Of Summer

I started this one out wanting to make something that resembled dandelions, simply because I love those pretty little weeds. Personally I think it looks at least a little bit like dandelion fluff, and the colours are warm and summery, so I'm quite pleased with the result.
This is a BarnsleyJ DeLuxe (ea.ufm) fractal, coloured with Trapestry-x and Thingamajigs II (tma.ucl).

Pollution

Another BarnsleyJ DeLuxe fractal, this one was coloured with Trapestry-x (tma.ucl). I made it last night, but didn't feel like posting it here then. Click for a bigger view and lots of details!

Ataraxia

From Wikipedia: "Ataraxia (Ἀταραξία "tranquility") is a Greek term used by Pyrrho and Epicurus for a lucid state, characterized by freedom from worry or any other preoccupation."
I liked this fractal so much that I made two versions of it. It's a very simple one, just a few layers of BarnsleyJ DeLuxe (ea.ufm) formula coloured with Thingamajigs (tma.ucl). Enjoy! :)

Emerge

More flowers! I've been trying to make something for the June Ultra Fractal Challenge on DeviantArt, but every time I open UF I end up making something completely different. The challenge is to make a fractal using only formulas from obsolete.ufm and colouring algorithms from obsolete.ucl, which doesn't really sound that complicated. And it isn't complicated at all, I just always feel like putting my own spin on things and use different formulas and algorithms. This is also one of the main reasons why I don't like to use tutorials; I always change everything and end up with something completely different than what the tutorial shows. I guess I just don't like being told what to do.
Anyway, this is a IFS-Barnsley (M-set) (sam.ufm) fractal coloured with Doodads II and Thin Orbit Traps II (tma.ufm). I used Lake mapping on one of the layers.

Home again

I've been in Norway for a couple of days now, and I'm starting to get used to it. I miss Scotland of course, but I suppose it'll get better when I start working next week. Right now I'm just relaxing and enjoying my holiday, and attempting to make decent fractals. These ones are all made with various formulas from obsolete.ufm, and the first one is coloured with Thin Orbit Traps (tma.ucl) while the two others are coloured with algorithms from obsolete.ucl. I think I want to try some of these formulas with Naru's Gnarly Potpourri, especially the Hopalong variation.
